California Trucking Association elects Joseph Giammona as 2019 president

The California Trucking Association (CTA) announced that Joseph Giammona, of JSG Trucking, has been elected to serve as the association’s president for 2019. Giammona, who previously served as CTA’s First Vice President, has been company president of JSG Trucking of Acampo for the past 28 years, skillfully maneuvering the company through several tumultuous periods in the trucking industry.

“CTA is excited for this next chapter with Joe Giammona as our president. He’s a proven industry leader, and we are looking forward to all the great things he will set forth and accomplish for our members and our industry,” said CTA CEO Shawn Yadon.

“Joe has been a dedicated member of CTA since 1989 and during that time, we have witnessed his devotion to innovation, exemplary customer relations and safety standards,” added Yadon.

“I am honored to be playing such an instrumental role at an association that has championed many triumphs for the trucking industry in both California and nationwide,” said Giammona.

Giammona pursued his higher education at Delta College and California State University, Stanislaus, while simultaneously undertaking maintenance, driving, dispatch and eventually leadership roles at JSG Trucking. In what began as a one truck operation, Joe played an integral role in expanding JSG’s fleet to eventually provide diverse hauling capabilities to serve a customer base of some of the largest companies in the nation. He also worked with JVG Associates, where he operated its 100,000 sq. foot distribution warehouse for the wholesale food distributor.

Giammona currently resides in Clements, Calif., where he and his wife, Carol, have raised their two children, Rachel and Vincent.
