Pedestrian Check – 2:00 p.m. – Orangethorpe/Valley view – Following a traffic stop, police arrested an 18-year-old Buena Park resident for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. The subject was booked at Orange County Jail.

Suspicious Subject – 6:38 a.m. – 8100 block of Moody St. – A subject was reportedly sitting at the basketball courts and did not respond to the caller when asked to leave the premises. Police made contact with the subject, who did not respond to them. The subject was shivering and had open wounds on one foot. Paramedics responded and the subject was transported to the hospital.
Disturbance (Subject) – 10:21 a.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – A subject in front of the store was reportedly asking patrons to purchase alcohol for him. Police contacted the subject, who checked okay and left the area.
Fire – 11:26 a.m. – 5400 block of Walker St. – A bucket was reportedly smoking. It was determined that there was a cigarette. The fire department was not required and the fire was put out.
January 24, 2019
Public Works Information – 7:28 p.m. – La Palma/Denni – A large amount of water was reportedly in the street. It was determined that the water division was flushing in that area.
Fraud/Forgery Report – 7:40 p.m. – 4900 block of Malaga Dr. – The reporting party reportedly posted an ad on CraigsList to sell a dining table. The RP stated that a subject mailed a check for $1500 when he was asking only $500 for the table, and the RP believed that he was being scammed. The RP did not release the item for sale and had not had contact with the buyer since receiving the check. The RP was advised to go to the bank and see if the check was fraudulent.
January 25, 2019
Traffic Stop – 10:33 a.m. – Valley View/Centerpointe – Police conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 29-year-old Bell Gardens resident for oustanding warrants. The vehicle was released to a valid driver and the subject was booked at Orange County Jail.
Counseling – 4:23 p.m. – 7792 Walker St. (La Palma Police Department) – The reporting party requested counseling on how to deal with neighbors.
January 26, 2019
Disturbance (Subject) – 5:26 p.m. – 4900 block of La Palma Ave. – The caller reported a male subject in a disturbance with four other males. Paramedics were requested. One subject arrested for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
DUI – 10:51 p.m. – Moody/Houston – A subject was driving slowly and swerving with the hazard lights on. Police attempted a traffic stop on the subject, who failed to yield immediately. The subject stopped on an overpass on Carmenita. A translator was requested for a field sobriety test. Cypress Police responded with a translator. Following the field sobriety test, the subject was arrested for misdemeanor DUI. The vehicle was towed from the location.

Petty Theft Report – 5:00 a.m. – 8400 block of Moody St. – A subject reportedly took two cartons of cigarettes. Petty theft report taken.
Counseling – 2:06 p.m. – 7792 Walker St. (La Palma Police Department) – The reporting party requested counseling regarding a custody exchange.

Incident Report – 11:04 a.m. – Walker/Edison Right-of-Way – A tree-trimming contractor reportedly damaged a City light pole. There were no injuries. Incident report taken.
Fraud/Forgery Report – 6:19 a.m. – 5000 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – A subject reportedly paid with a fraudulent $20 bill. No report desired. The bill was kept for training purposes.
