Crews are scheduled to shift traffic to the west side of the Fairview Road bridge Saturday, Feb. 16 in anticipation of the upcoming partial demolition of the bridge.
The Fairview Road bridge will be closed from South Coast Drive to McCormack Lane for crews to restripe lanes and install temporary concrete barriers. The northbound and southbound Fairview Road on- and off-ramps, and the northbound SR-73 off-ramp will also be closed. Detours will be in place to navigate motorists around the closure.
The left turn lane from northbound Fairview Road to the northbound I-405 on-ramp will be closed for the duration of the first phase of construction of the bridge. This closure will be in place for approximately 12 months.
When: The Fairview Road bridge and the on- and off-ramps will be closed from 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16 to 9 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 17.
Why: As part of the I-405 Improvement Project, which adds a general purpose lane and a tolled Express Lane facility in each direction, 18 bridges must be replaced.
