February 8, 2019

Disturbance (Fight) – 2:48 p.m. – 10000 block of Los Alamitos Blvd. – High school kids were reportedly involved in a fight. The subject were gone on the arrival of the police.
Suspicious Subject – 7:01 p.m. – Los Almamitos/Serpentine – A male subject was reportedly sitting on a backhoe in the dirt lot. The caller felt that it was suspicious and the subject did not appear to be working. Checked okay.

February 9, 2019

Disturbance (Noise) – 9:04 a.m. – 4100 block of Farquhar Ave. – The reporting party was upset over neighbors who were evicted making too much noise in the apartment. Counseled.
Assist Outside Agency – 11:35 a.m. – 12000 block of Cherry St. – A grenade was reportedly found in the caller’s father’s garage. OCFA requested that police call the bomb squad. Police conducted an evacuation of surrounding residences. A bomb technician advised that the grenade was not live and took it.

Reckless Driver – 4:02 p.m. – Maple/Green – A vehicle reportedly swerved to hit a puddle of water and hydroplaned, almost crashing into the reporting party.
Traffic Collision – 11:26 p.m. – Seal Beach/Westminster (Seal Beach) – A traffic collision resulted in a gas station on fire. The gas station was emptied.

February 11, 2019

Broken Traffic Signal – 8:24 a.m. – Katella/Cottonwood – The caller reported that the intersection was on a four-way flash. Police were unable to reset the signal. Southern California Edison was at the location working on the light, which would stay on flash for now.
Counseling – 2:56 p.m. – 4100 block of Farquhar Ave. – The reporting party advised that a neighbor was harassing her. The subjects were being evicted due to problems with the reporting party and the subjects were shutting off her electricity to get back at her. The reporting party stated that the neighbor vindictively turned her switch off. Police explained to the reporting party that she could not prove turning off a switch in a common area was vindictive or a crime. Police explained to the reporting party and the landlord that the power switches should be separated and relocated to a location where only one person has access and not a common area. Police also explained to the reporting party that once the neighbor was evicted, then her neighbor issues would be solved. The reporting party requested a report, and police explained to her that there was no crime. The reporting party became upset and re-reported other neighbor dispute calls with the same neighbor, which were already documented by the police. Police explained to the reporting party that the past calls were already documented.

February 12, 2019

Suspicious Subject – 12:41 a.m. – 3900 block of Ball Rd. – The caller stated that a male subject kept looking in the window and pacing back and forth. The caller was getting ready to close up and requested an officer come and walk the caller to the car.
Petty Theft Report – 11:52 a.m. – 10000 block of Portal Dr. – Aluminum valued at $200 was reportedly taken from the business. This had reportedly happened a couple of times. Log item issued.
Disturbance (Subject) – 12:07 p.m. – Katella/Kaylor – A male subject was reportedly swinging a butcher knife at a tree with a crowd gathered and watching. Police detained the subject at gunpoint and placed him on a mental health hold. The subject was transported to the hospital.

February 13, 2019

Illegal Dumping – 12:27 p.m. – 3800 block of Farquhar Ave. – The occupant of a white panel van reportedly illegally dumped trash in the empty trash cans. The caller said that this happens frequently with the same vehicle and subject. Police were unable to locate the subject.
Petty Theft Report – 6:24 p.m. – 3900 block of Green Ave. – The caller reported that a suspect stole two packages off a porch. The caller did not desire prosecution at this time. One package was a cat bed and it was unknown what the other package was. The caller requested extra patrol checks during the early afternoon hours.

February 14, 2019

Hazard – 8:43 a.m. – Bloomfield/Cerritos – The caller advised that power lines were sparking at the location. Police were unable to locate the sparking. Edison responded and checked the area.
Request No Citation – 6:13 p.m. – Pine/Katella – The caller said that another employee accidentally took her car keys home, and the caller had to leave the vehicle at the location overnight and requested that police issue no citations on the vehicle.
