Dear Los Alamitos Unified Families, Friends, and Community Members,
It is with a heavy heart that I let you know that our beloved Robert Briggerman, affectionately known as “Dr. B”, passed away last night. Robert had a serious illness since November, but he had periods of time in which he was getting better. Unfortunately, he took a turn for the worse this week and passed away from heart failure last night at Long Beach Memorial.
This is a devastating loss for our entire Los Al family. He was our dear colleague and friend, and we will miss him greatly. We are still in shock and beyond heartsick.
I wish I didn’t have to share this news with you in an email, but many of you know and love him and would want to know. Robert started as a Spanish teacher at LAHS, was an assistant principal at McAuliffe, and a principal at Lee. For the past three years, he was the Principal at Weaver. He cultivated life-long friendships throughout our District, and he will always hold a special place in our hearts.
When we get information about a memorial service, we will send it out. Please join us in sending love and support to his family and friends.
The letter above was emailed by Los Alamitos Unified School District Superintendent Sherry Kropp.
