Stand-up comedian and actor Tone Bell will headline The Rec Room in Huntington Beach on Friday, April 12 at 8 p.m. Tickets are now on sale.
Before pursuing a career in comedy, Tone Bell was a first-grade teacher in Atlanta and later took a job in San Francisco as a brand manager with Swivel Media. He moved back to Atlanta a year later to do promotional work for a beer company that eventually transferred him to Dallas where he started doing open-mic nights at various comedy clubs.
Bell eventually moved to Los Angeles where he won the NBC Stand Up For Diversity Talent Search in 2012 and was also cast as a bartender in the NBC Sitcom “Whitney” and was later cast in “Bad Judge.” He has also appeared on other TV shows such as E!’s “Love You” and “Mean It with Whitney Cummings,” as well as on VH1’s “Single Ladies,” Comedy Central’s “Key and Peele” and Game Show Network’s “Mind of a Man.” Bell also hosted the first season of the hidden camera show “Jerks with Cameras” on MTV.
Bell currently has a web series on Russell Simmons YouTube channel All Def Digital called “The Green Room” and has even been cast in the lead role of CBS comedy pilot “Fam” after having starred opposite Kathy Bates in the Netflix’s “Disjointed. He also has a one-hour comedy special “Can’t Cancel This” on Showtime.
