Garden Grove residents eligible for free compost on April 13

Garden Grove residents can receive up to 60 gallons, per vehicle, of nutrient-rich compost for free at the annual Compost Giveaway event, on Saturday, April 13, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at the Garden Grove Municipal Service Center, located at 13802 Newhope Street.

Vehicles must enter from the rear of the Municipal Service Center, on A Better Way, accessible from Anabel Street.

Residents are advised to bring their own containers or buckets to pick up the loose compost. Bags are not permitted. Due to the popularity of this free event, residents should expect long lines.

Each year, Republic Services and the Garden Grove Sanitary District host the Compost Giveaway as a special thank-you to residents for participating in the residential green waste collection program.

For more information on the Compost Giveaway, or any of the residential collection programs, please call Republic Services at 714-238-2444, or visit www.republicservices.com.
