March 18, 2019

Citizen Assist – 6:29 p.m. – 6500 block of Montaire St. – The caller requested assistance regarding a possible civil issue. The caller reportedly sold a vehicle to a subject three week prior, and the subject used a false name and false driver’s license.

March 19, 2019

Illegal Parking Violation – 10:21 a.m. – 7800 block of Walker St. – A vehicle was reportedly parked in the handicapped parking without a placard. Citation issued.
Welfare Check – 10:13 p.m. – Del Norte/Santa Margarita – Cypress Police received a 911 call that pinged at the end of the cul de sac. There was no response on several callback attempts. Police made contact at the address on Del Norte and confirmed that a 9-year-old child called 911; the subject was missing one of his toy cars. Message delivered to Cypress Police.

March 20, 2019

Missing Adult – 5:21 p.m. – 4500 block of Montecito Dr. – A subject with dementia and diabetes reportedly left the location on foot approximately two hours prior to the call. The reporting party had already checked the parks he frequents. La Palma Police were unable to locate the subject on an area check. A broadcast was put out and the subject was located by another department.
Public Works Information – 9:58 p.m. – 7821 Walker St. (Central Park) – The men’s restroom was out of order in the community area. Public Works advised.

March 21, 2019

Petty Theft Report – 7:16 a.m. – 7500 block of Mark Cir. – Property was reportedly stolen from a possibly unlocked vehicle overnight. There was no damage to the vehicle. The loss was $5 in change. Petty theft report taken.
Incident Report – 5:19 p.m. – 7900 block of Inwood Ln. – The caller had video of a subject checking video doors overnight. Incident report taken.

March 22, 2019

Traffic Stop – 1:19 p.m. – La Palma/Valley View – Police attempted to conduct traffic stop on a vehicle, which fled northbound on Valley View from La Palma. Police performed a felony traffic stop in the 7700 block of Valley View and detained one subject. Police arrested a 21-year-old La Palma resident for reckless driving, receiving/concealing stolen property, carrying a concealed firearm, and other charges.
Counseling – 4:45 p.m. – 5200 block of Ivywood Dr. – The reporting party requested to speak with an officer regarding a possible bad check received. The reporting party was in possession of the check and there was no loss at that time. The check had not been deposited or cashed.

March 23, 2019

Petty Theft Report – 6:23 p.m. – 5400 block of Festival Cir. – A vehicle was reportedly ransacked overnight with an unknown point of entry. The loss was miscellaneous items valued at $4. Report taken.

March 24, 2019

Counseling – 11:08 a.m. – 5000 block of Via Maria – The reporting party was concerned after receiving an influx of calls from an unknown number. Counseled.
Extra Patrol Checks – 2:32 p.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – The owner requested extra patrol checks due to an earlier incident. The employee was fearful that the customer who created a disturbance may return. The owner advised that he did have video surveillance regarding the incident.
