California’s Vandenberg AFB reportedly among finalists for US Space Command

According to Stars & Stripes, Vandenberg Air Force Base is among six finalists being considered as the site for the new US Space Command.

How cool is that?

From the article by Leada Gore of Alabama Media Group:

According to the [U.S. Air Force] memo, four Colorado sites, one Alabama site and one California base are on the list.

The Colorado finalists are: Buckley Air Force Base, Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station, Peterson Air Force Base, and Schriever Air Force Base. Alabama’s Redstone Arsenal also made the cut, while California’s Vandenberg Air Force Base rounds out the list.
