April 26, 2019
Hazard – 1:47 p.m. – 10600 block of Walnut St. – It appeared that some wire had been pulled out of a utility pole conduit. The cable wires were moved back into cover.
Lobby Contact – 6:33 p.m. – 3201 Katella Ave. (Los Alamitos Police Department) – The reporting party’s son reportedly received a red light camera ticket in the vehicle, which was registered to the reporting party. They received a letter from court that it was going to warrant, however the son had already paid the ticket.

Illegally Parked Vehicle – 12:18 p.m. – Kyle/Catalina – Police contacted subjects who were parked next to a tow company, as their vehicle was towed the week prior when it was found illegally parked and occupied by a different subject who was arrested for possession of stolen property. One subject was contacted the evening prior by Los Alamitos Police Officers and arrested and admitted to smoking methamphetamine immediately after officers released him with a notice to appear. The subject stated she does not have a stable place to live. The subjects were advised to return to Rossmoor Towing when they were able to pay the release fees and get their vehicle. They were counseled against sleeping in their vehicle and advised that a CAR report will be made to LA County DCFS.
Police Information – 10:40 p.m. – Oak/Florista – The power was reportedly out in Old Town. Southern California Edison was contacted and reported that the power was estimated to be restored by 12 a.m. The traffic signals were out in the area. Public Works advised.

Identity Theft – 11:17 a.m. – 3900 block of Green Ave. – The reporting party reportedly received two letters from Verizon that someone had opened accounts with her information.
Citizen Assist – 3:33 p.m. – 3201 Katella Ave. (Los Alamitos Police Department) – The reporting party requested help getting handcuffs off after accidentally getting locked and not having the key. Assisted.

Counseling – 11:26 a.m. – 10700 block of Los Vaqueros Cir. – The reporting party requested counseling regarding a scam call received by the business. There was no loss, but the reporting party’s superior wanted it reported. The scammer said that the power bill was fifteen days late and the electricity would be shut off at 11 a.m. The boss checked online and the SCE account had a credit of $134. No loss.
Petty Theft Report – 5:54 p.m. – 10700 block of Los Alamitos Blvd. – An unknown female reportedly entered the business and took two frames valued at $500. No report desired. Log number given for insurance purposes.

Traffic Hazard – 12:25 p.m. – Katella/Lexington – The reporting party claimed that construction-related traffic delineation on Lexington south of Katella was a hazard and requested that a police unit checked. The caller said that it was causing vehicles to almost collide head on.
Disturbance (Noise) – 10:29 p.m. – 4100 block of Farquhar Ave. – Subjects were reportedly being loud while moving it. The day prior, they were moving items around until 1 a.m.

Patrol Check – 5:01 p.m. – Walnut/Florista – The caller requested a patrol check regarding an ongoing problem with speeding vehicles traveling though the neighborhood due to the traffic backup in the area. The caller requested extra patrol checks and was also going door-to-door getting neighbor to sign a petition for the traffic commission to install speed bumps throughout the neighborhood.

Transient – 9:30 a.m. – 10700 block of Chestnut St. – A male subject reportedly urinated on the caller’s back patio. Advised.
Fraud Report – 8:10 p.m. – 10800 block of Los Alamitos Blvd. – A suspect reportedly used a fake $100 bill for a to-go order.
