Traffic Hazard – 8:26 p.m. – La Palma/Valley View – A large piece of carpet was obstructing traffic.
Petty Theft Report – 12:01 p.m. – 7900 block of Westra Ln. – The reporting party stated that in August subjects claimed to be collecting donations for JFK High School. The reporting party gave them $40 and then later found out that the school was not collecting donations. No prosecution desired.

Area Check – 9:28 a.m. – 7800 block of Kelly Cir. – The caller reported a possible fire in the area. OCFA responded to the location advised that there was no fire.
Illegally Parked Vehicle – 10:53 a.m. – Centerpointe Dr. – A vehicle was reportedly parked in the striped area of handicapped parking. The vehicle was moved.

Extra Patrol Check – 10:46 a.m. – 4600 block of La Palma Ave. – The grandfather of students requested extra patrol checks during morning drop-off and after-school pick-up hours for vehicles speeding and running red lights.

Traffic Stop – 2:52 a.m. – Orangethorpe/Valley View – Following a traffic stop, police arrested a 33-year-old Bell Gardens resident for driving without a license, possession of controlled substances, and driving without a license plate.
Burglary Report – 7:36 a.m. – 7500 block of Silverado Ln. – Tools were reportedly stolen from a locked vehicle by a smashed rear passenger window. Report taken.
Disturbance (Party) – 8:35 p.m. – 5100 block of Ivywood Dr. – The caller reported a loud party with subjects singing on microphones and loud music. Police contacted the resident and stated that they would stop the music.

Area Check – 9:47 a.m. – 5400 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – A subject reportedly asked the caller for gas, and the caller used a credit/debit card to fill up the subject’s gas tank. The caller was now reporting that the bank account was emptied.
Traffic Stop – 9:33 p.m – 5600 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – Following a traffic stop, police arrested a 40-year-old South Gate resident for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of controlled substances.

Stray Animal – 5:22 p.m. – Thelma/Furman – A chocolate Labrador with no collar was reportedly loose. Police located the dog and secured it in the rear seat of the police unit. Message left for SEAACA.
Counseling – 9:45 p.m. – 7792 Walker St. (La Palma Police Department) – A subject came into the lobby and stated that his mother kicked him out of the house. Counseled.

Found Property – 9:53 a.m. – 5100 block of La Palma Ave. – The reporting party found a driver’s license and credit card. Police made contact with the owner and the property was returned.
Counseling – 12:45 p.m. – 5600 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – The caller requested that an officer respond regarding suspicious circumstances of a radio dial and she believed that an unknown subject entered her apartment overnight and put something in her hair. Police determined that the incident was unfounded and there was no crime.
