Petty Theft – 7:25 a.m. – 4000 block of Ball Rd. – A male subject reportedly took a bottle of alcohol. Police were unable to locate the subject.
Identity Theft – 11:37 a.m. – 10700 block of Los Alamitos Blvd. – An unknown subject reportedly opened a line of credit in the reporting party’s name. The loss was $4,500. The reporting party would go to the credit union to possibly gather more information. Log item issued.

May 11, 2019

Transient – 2:31 p.m. – Reagan/Green – A male subject was reportedly camping on a grassy area for the past two days. The subject was contacted and advised regarding blocking the sidewalk while sleeping. The subject stated that he would move and be on his way. No encampment was observed.
Vandalism – 3:05 p.m. – 10700 block of Los Alamitos Blvd. – A female transient was reportedly throwing items at the caller’s vehicle. Police contacted the subject and counseled her regarding her anger.

May 12, 2019

Suspicious Circumstances – 2:34 a.m. – 11000 block of Noel St. – The reporting party reportedly heard what sounded like something being dragged in front of her residence and now smelled a foul smell in front of her residence. Police determined that the smell was from a skunk.
Welfare Check – 1:29 p.m. – Katella/Cherry – An elderly lady reportedly tripped and fell and was bleeding from the nose.

May 13, 2019

Suspicious Occupied Vehicle – 9:19 a.m. – 11100 block of Los Alamitos Blvd. – A vehicle was reportedly pulled in sideways and was taking two spots. A male subject was hunched over and possibly sleeping inside. Police made contact and determined that the subject fell asleep in the car and was visiting family in the area. He was advised to have a licensed driver move his vehicle before it was towed.
Fraud Report – 12:06 p.m. – 4100 block of Katella Ave. – The reporting party issued a check in the amount of $15, and it was washed and cashed for $1500 at a bank in Lakewood. RP will be reimbursed and needed event number to provide for his bank.

May 14, 2019

Grand Theft Report – 1:10 p.m. – 10300 block of Los Alamitos Blvd. – A laptop valued at $1,800 was reportedly taken. A neighboring business had footage.
Lost Property – 10:59 p.m. – 11800 block of Reagan St. – The reporting party flew home from Chicago and used his driver’s license to check into the flight. After checking in, he placed his license back into his wallet. When he got home, he went to the bank to fill out some paperwork and realized his license was missing. It was unknown where exactly he lost the license and nothing else was missing from his wallet. Log item issued. The reporting party was counseled on how to obtain a new driver’s license from the DMV.

Malicious Mischief to a Vehicle – 8:41 a.m. – 4300 block of Farquhar Ave. – The caller’s son’s vehicle had four low tires. Video showed a suspect near the vehicle, possibly letting air out and not slashed. No report desired.
Counseling – 2:15 p.m. – 11400 block of Snark St. – The caller requested counseling regarding contractors trying to extort more money from the caller’s grandmother.

Traffic Hazard – 1:56 p.m. – Los Alamitos/Rossmoor – An umbrella was reportedly in the road. Assisted.
