A free community event that will include fire truck rides, pony rides, games, face painter and more will all be part of Salute to First Responders night at Los Alamitos Race Course to be held this Saturday night, June 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. The festivities will be held in conjunction with the live Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred racing program.
Los Alamitos Race Course will feature free grandstand admission for all attendees starting at 6 p.m. on this night. The first 1,200 guests will also receive a free commemorative Salute to First Responders coffee mug. The giveaway will begin at 6 p.m. The first horse race of the night is scheduled for approximately 6:15 p.m.
First Responders will be recognized in the track’s winner’s circle throughout the night. Los Alamitos Race Course is hosting this event to celebrate and thank our police officers, firefighters, and others that are there for us in our time of need.
Among the participating agencies, the Cypress Police Department will be on hand along with their popular mini police car Donut. The Orange County Police Officer K9 Association will be conducting live demonstration, while the California Highway Patrol and AAA will be bringing the classic 1961 Dodge Polaris and the 2016 Dodge Charger, plus the Orange County Sheriff’s Department will also be represented and will display its Humvee. The Orange County Fire Authority and CARE Ambulance/EMT will also participate on this night.
This event will also feature games for children of all ages.
Los Alamitos Race Course has been a part of the community in Orange County since 1947.
