Northwest Orange County residents have an opportunity to register for a new emergency preparedness training class hosted by West Orange County CERT.

CERT Academy registration now open

Experienced emergency preparedness volunteers from Buena Park, Cypress, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Seal Beach & Westminster have joined police, fire and medical first responders to ensure the best CERT ACADEMY to date.

Starting July 12, 2019 at the Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base, this 20-hour, two Friday evenings and two Saturdays, FEMA-approved course may assist, you, your family and your neighbors help handle emergencies before police, fire, or medical professionals arrive.

Emergency Preparedness Instruction includes: Disaster Preparedness, Medical Operations I & II, Light Search & Rescue, Fire Suppression, Team Organization and Emotional First Aid. Following graduation, there is a mock drill utilizing skills learned. It is consistently amazing how well our students perform.
