The City of Garden Grove announces new funding for the Senior Home Improvement Grant Program beginning July 1, 2019. The grant program assists qualified low-income seniors above the age of 62 receive up to $5,000 to make home improvements. These grants do not need to be repaid to the City.
Acceptable exterior and interior home repairs include but are not limited to window replacement, interior and exterior painting, roof replacement, plumbing repairs, heater replacement, and handicap accessibility modifications.
Eligible residents must meet all program income and application requirements and show proof of residency. Funds will be distributed on a first come, first-served basis, however, grantees will be obligated to address any existing code violations prior to making approved repairs.
