On Monday, July 1, 2019, the City of Garden Grove will re-launch its shop local program, Buy in Garden Grove (BiGG). The enhanced program features a new logo; multi-functional GIS-based webpage; more shopper discounts and rebates; and special seasonal promotions and giveaways. To access the program, visit ggcity.org/bigg on July 1.
“BiGG’s re-launch furthers the City’s commitment to assisting local businesses through partnerships and publicity, while encouraging residents to shop local,” said Community and Economic Development Director Lisa Kim. “It’s important to maintain a strong business climate that supports the needs of the community, such as public safety, roads, parks, and other quality-of-life services.”
Approximately 100 local businesses currently participate in the free program, now in its 10th year, offering discounts on services and products.
In addition, the Garden Grove City Council recently approved a Vehicle Rebate Program (VRP) that offers Garden Grove residents and businesses a $500 rebate when purchasing a new car or truck from one of the six franchised local auto dealers. Participating auto dealers are Volkswagen Garden Grove, Simpson Chevrolet of Garden Grove, Russell Westbrook Hyundai of Garden Grove, Toyota Place, Garden Grove Nissan, and Garden Grove Kia.
From the new BiGG webpage, each participating business can be found on a GIS-map that is compatible with both desktop and mobile, allowing users the ability to instantly find directions to desired shopping destinations. Businesses can be filtered through a search category.
Users can also find detailed information on BiGG participants such as the business website, contact information, and social media sites, including Yelp.
Additional features will be regularly added to BiGG.
Garden Grove businesses are encouraged to participate and can sign up for free at ggcity.org/bigg.
