The Ocean View School District (OVSD) proudly announces two new school administrators for the 2019-2020 school year. The OVSD Board recently approved and welcomed Dr. Rasheedah Gates, new Vista View Middle School Principal, and Ms. Cheri Daniels, Spring View Middle School Assistant Principal. Both administrators will start the 2019-2020 school year.
Dr. Gates has served in the educational field since 2001, working in Duarte Unified School District as an elementary teacher, Teaching and Learning Coach, and most recently, as a middle school assistant principal. Dr. Gates has served students in Language Learner programs, the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program, Gifted and Talented Education (GATE), Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and more. She earned her doctorate in educational leadership from Azusa Pacific University.
Ms. Daniels, the new Assistant Principal at Spring View Middle School, has worked in education since 2003. She has served as an assistant principal in the West Covina and Irvine Unified School Districts, as well as teaching middle school science in the Newport-Mesa Unified School District.
“Middle school is such an important time in a child’s development,” said Dr. Carol Hansen, Superintendent. “We are thrilled to welcome these two educators, and feel fortunate that our students at Vista and Spring View schools will benefit from their expertise.”
