Los Alamitos Medical Center held a Cereal Drive the week of June 10, 2019 that was aimed to help Summer Harvest. The hospital encouraged staff to donate cereal because the food will help feed families. Summer Harvest in particular helps families that are on the free and reduced lunch program, according to their website.
To kick off the cereal drive, our hospital had some fun with the boxes and made them into bowling pins. It became a friendly competition where winners got 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbons.
Los Alamitos Medical Center collected enough food via the cereal drive to give 1739 servings of food for the local community.
