Chief of Administration in the Orange County District Attorney’s Office and former Western Placer School District Trustee Melanie Eustice announced her candidacy for California State Assembly District 73. Eustice, a conservative Republican, launches her campaign against sitting member Bill Brough amid numerous sexual harassment allegations. She vows to restore integrity to the 73rd Assembly seat, fight to protect families and push back against stains on the Republican brand.
“I’m proud to announce my run for the 73rd Assembly District. My work throughout the years as an elected school trustee, chief of staff to an Orange County Board of Supervisor and now fighting for public safety from the District Attorney’s office has prepared me to represent the people of the 73rd District. I’ve made progress on the major challenges that face our community: ending homelessness, keeping violent criminals behind bars, fighting against taxes and government overreach, ensuring good jobs can be created right here in our community and working with our local schools to provide afterschool programs for our kids.”
Melanie said, “Sacramento is a disaster with endless taxes and dysfunction. Housing, gas and education costs continue to skyrocket. I’ll bring my know-how of getting real conservative results to Sacramento and I will empower the community. I vow to always put families’ public safety first,” continued Eustice.
“After hearing the numerous allegations swarming around Assemblyman Brough, I can no longer stand by. I’m stepping up to be a voice, yet again, for the voiceless to say, ‘enough.’ We need change and I’m stepping up not just for women, but for every parent who has a daughter in the workplace. Assemblymember Brough’s alleged conduct is not only disgusting but it’s also unacceptable.”
John Thomas, Chief Strategist for the Eustice campaign said, “Melanie Eustice has always been a fighter on behalf of families, taxpayers and those without a voice. Assemblyman Brough’s continued behavior can’t be tolerated. We have no doubt that voters are looking for a Conservative fighter who has real integrity and honor. One thing is clear, Brough…you’ve got to go.”
