I-405 Improvement Project construction alert: Week of July 15



What
Falsework construction, which includes installing timber and steel beams to support construction of the new Magnolia Street bridge.
Where

Adjacent to Magnolia Street, on the northbound (NB) side of I-405. I-405 will be closed between Warner Avenue and Magnolia Street

Additional Closures:

  • NB I-405 loop on-ramp from Magnolia Street
  • NB I-405 on-ramp from Warner Avenue
Detours will be in place, and signs will be posted to guide motorists around the closures. Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes if possible.
 
When
As early as Monday, July 15 to Thursday, July 18: 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.  NB I-405, the NB I-405 loop on-ramp from Magnolia Street, and the NB I-405 loop on-ramp from Warner Avenue will be closed

Warner Avenue → Beach Boulevard → Beach Boulevard on-ramp

Crews will install temporary shoring or bridge supports for the new side of the bridge.

Eastbound Bolsa Avenue Detour:
Bolsa Avenue → Goldenwest Street → Hazard Avenue → Hoover Street or Beach Boulevard → Bolsa Avenue

Westbound Bolsa Avenue Detour:
Bolsa Avenue → Beach Boulevard → Hazard Avenue → Goldenwest Street → Bolsa Avenue

NB and SB closures will not be implemented concurrently.
