Petty Theft – 4:17 a.m. – 10700 block of Los Alamitos Blvd. – A male subject reportedly took cofee and small snack items totaling less than $5. Police contacted the subject, who had money in his possession, and the reporting party agreed to let him pay for the items. No report was desired. The subject had diminished capacity due to a hammer blow to the head. The subject was advised not to return and attempt to steal items.
Petty Theft Report – 7:44 p.m. – 10900 block of Walnut St. – The caller reported petty theft from an unlocked vehicle. The caller was moving items into her home and forgot to set her alarm. The loss was miscellaneous coins. No report desired. The caller just wanted to make officers aware of the theft and had alerted her neighbor via the Next Door app.

Municipal Code Violation – 12:13 p.m. – 11200 block of Los Alamitos Blvd. – A subject was reportedly selling fruit on the sidewalk. Party advised and will comply.
Malicious Mischief to a Vehicle – 7:26 p.m. – 5000 block of Katella Ave. – Two vehicles reportedly sustained damage from an unknown subject throwing two separate glass beer bottles at parked vehicles. Due to the rear window damage to one vehicle, the window eventually shattered and had to be towed.

Municipal Code Violation – 11:36 a.m. – Cerritos/Bloomfield – A semi truck was reportedly parked overnight on Cerritos. Citation issued.

Vehicle Check – 2:34 p.m. – 10700 block of Los Vaqueros Cir. – An employee was sleeping in his car in the parking lot of the business until he obtained his new apartment.
Counseling – 9:02 a.m. – 10600 block of Walnut St. – The reporting party requested counseling regarding a civil issue. The reporting party said that construction workers from across from the location hit the reporting party’s vehicle with rocks.

Found Property – 10:16 a.m. – 4100 block of Green Ave. – The caller reportedly found a large bag with keys in the front yard. Assisted.
Patrol Check – 8:02 p.m. – 3600 block of Howard Ave. – The caller reported an ongoing issue with vehicles speeding down Howard.

Suspicious Vehicle – 7:58 p.m. – 10900 block of Portal Dr. – A truck was reportedly parked across the street from a house with the driver’s side door ajar. One subject arrested on drug charges. The vehicle was towed.

Fire – 12:37 a.m. – 5100 block of New York Ave. (Cypress) – The fire was initially a car fire, but the car was moved and now the garage was on fire. The garage became fully engulfed and the fire spread to the roof. OCFA responded and put the fire out.
Fraud Report – 10:06 a.m. – 11300 block of Barbi Ln. – The reporting party was reportedly contacted by an unknown subject providing firewall protection. The subject requested to be paid in Google Play gift cards. Log number issued.
