Republican Candidate for Congress Amy Phan West sees highly publicized financial support this past weekend in New York for President Trump’s re-election as a good sign for Republicans in 2020.
West, a Republican candidate running for California’s 47th Congressional District, said that her time this past weekend at a private Hamptons fundraising event for President Donald J. Trump in New York made it crystal clear that Republicans have a good chance to take back the House in 2020 with so much momentum for the President’s re-election.
“I was fortunate enough to attend the highly publicized event in New York with the President this past weekend and agree with our Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel that it is very obvious now the support for our President Donald J. Trump is in fact unprecedented. President Trump being on the top of the ballot in 2020 will in fact help Republicans retake the House,” said West in a released statement.
West made reference to McDaniel’s following Tweet:
“Thanks to the unhinged mob on the left, @realDonaldTrump raised $12M today, $2M more than originally expected,” tweeted Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel on August 9, 2019. “The support for our President is unprecedented and growing!”
As reported, West attended the event in the Hamptons, with other well-known Republican supporters of the president that included former Fox News personalities Bill O’Reilly and Kimberly Guilfoyle, Donald Trump Jr., and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
The President appeared at two Hamptons fundraisers organized by Trump Victory, a joint effort by campaign and the Republican National Committee that included one at the Bridgehampton estate of Joe Farrell and another at the Southampton home of real estate developer Stephen Ross.
“I was so honored to be among other supporters of the President who believe, as I do, that his agenda is working for the people of America, and putting them first. We do not want socialism to breed here. The President spoke about denuclearization of North Korea and about how other countries are finally stepping up to pay their fair share. These are the issues that resonate with our base, who is really, frankly, sick and tired of being taken advantage of by the liberal global elites. It’s our tax money made by hardworking Americans and for too many decades it has just been squandered on things other than taking care of Americans. It needs to stop. And there is nothing racist or wrong with wanting our tax money being allocated to help Americans for a change,” said West.
Due to security reasons, all invited guests were required to surrender phones and any electronic devices, which is why West said she could not share many pictures of the event.
