Day 2 – Rep. Cisneros meets with defense and aerospace businesses “made in the 39th”

Congressman Gilbert R. Cisneros, Jr. (CA-39) visited and toured local businesses in the 39th District to learn more about products and projects that are #MadeInThe39th. Each visit to a 39th District business highlights the central role local manufacturers serve in providing good paying jobs to constituents and contributing to the local economy.

Rep. Cisneros met with Raytheon to discuss their work related to defense, civil government, and cybersecurity solutions. Then, he toured Collins Aerospace, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation (UTC), to learn more about their key programs supporting our national defense and space operations.

“It was an honor to meet with Raytheon and United Technologies Corporation, who are both pushing the boundaries of aerospace research and development in the 39th District,” said Rep. Cisneros. “I’m proud to support and highlight these aerospace manufacturers and their contributions to our national security and local economy.”

“It was a pleasure to host Congressman Cisneros at our hoist and winch facility as well as highlight the products we manufacture locally here in the 39th District,”said Cory VanBuskirk, General Manager, Hoist & Winch, Collins Aerospace. “Our business continues to push American innovation forward, while also providing our commercial and military customers with products that save lives around the world on a daily basis. The Congressman understands how important local businesses are and we greatly value his support.”

Rep. Cisneros is a member of the House Armed Services Committee and House Veterans Affairs Committee. He recently secured several national security priorities in the FY20 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which has provisions that affect defense-related industries in the 39th District and throughout the United States.
