August 14, 2019

Suspicious Subject – 2:42 p.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – A male subject near the business was reportedly asking students for money. The caller believed that the subject might be under the influence and the caller also found used needles near where the subject was earlier. Police contacted the subject, who denied the circumstances. A needle was destroyed in a sharps container.
Fire – 5:28 p.m. – 4400 block of Robin Dr. – The caller reported a possible house fire, some type of trailer on fire. The fire was successfully put out and there was no damage. It was determined that the fire was started by the trash.

August 15, 2019

Transient – 10:44 a.m. – 5700 block of Fresca Dr. – Two possible transients were reportedly sleeping near the back area where the railroad tracks are located. Police contacted the subjects and arrested a 28-year-old subject for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Bike Stop – 11:55 p.m. – Moody/South (Cerritos) – Police contacted two subjects. One subject was uncooperative. Both subjects were detained, and police subsequently arrested a 40-year-old Cerritos resident for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

August 16, 2019

Counseling – 12:44 p.m. – 5300 block of Pembury Dr. – The caller requested counseling regarding possible fraud after the caller’s husband passed away. Incident report taken.
Fire – 5:23 p.m. – Moody/Crescent – The caller reported a possible palm tree on fire. OCFA responded and determined that a backyard barbecue fire caught a small tree on fire.

August 17, 2019

Traffic Stop – 7:37 – Pineridge/Woodglen – During a traffic stop, a subject was detained in handcuffs and was subsequently arrested for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. The subject was later released on citation.
Disturbance (Fight) – 8:30 p.m. – Orangethorpe/Walker – A fight was reportedly occurring. Police arrested a 44-year-old La Palma resident for assault and battery.

August 18, 2019

Public Works Information – 8:55 a.m. – 7821 Walker St. (Central Park) – A toilet in the men’s restroom was reportedly not flushing. Public Works notified.
Bike Stop – 11:05 a.m. – Valley View/Thelma – Following a bike stop, police arrested a 41-year-old Anaheim resident for possession of controlled substances and failure to stop at a stop sign.
Information – 8:36 p.m. – Bransford/Tiara – A transformer possibly blew in the area. The caller requested that Edison be advised. Police checked the area and determined that residents were complaining of flickering lights. A few houses south of Bourbon and Bransford had no electricity. Edison reported that power in the area should be restored by 3 a.m.

August 19, 2019

Traffic Stop – 10:33 a.m. – Orangethorpe/Centerpointe – Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no license plates and subsequently arrested a 29-year-old Little Rock, Arkansas, resident for outstanding warrants out of LASO Lakewood.
Disturbance (Subject) – 10:18 p.m. – 5200 block of Bransford Dr. – The caller reported that the neighbor’s 30-year-old son was screaming in the front yard. Police made contact and the subject stated that he was barking at a dog. Party advised and will comply.

August 20, 2019

Suspicious Occupied Vehicle – 11:34 a.m. – 5400 block of Dirk Cir. – A vehicle had reportedly been at the location for approximately 20 minutes. Police located the vehicle and determined that it was an Amazon delivery van.
Pedestrian Check – 7:45 p.m. – 8400 block of Walker St. – Police conducted a pedestrian check and subsequently arrested a 43-year-old Buena Park resident was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of controlled substances. A female officer was requested from neighboring departments to conduct a search of the subject. The subject was booked and transported to Orange County Jail.
