In a powerful testament to her growing coalition of support from elected officials, community leaders, and working families, today Irvine City Councilmember Melissa Fox announced an endorsement from U.S. Representative Lou Correa in her campaign for California’s 68th State Assembly District.
Congressman Lou Correa represents California’s 46th District, which includes portions of Assembly District 68 in the cities of Anaheim and Orange. A champion for Orange County families, Congressman Correa stated the following in announcing his endorsement:
“Melissa Fox is an experienced leader who will bring the needs and concerns of Orange County families to Sacramento and deliver winning results. She is laser focused on the issues most important to the residents of the 68th District – creating good middle class jobs, providing the best education for our children, enhancing public safety, and advocating for our most vulnerable. I’m proud to endorse Melissa’s campaign for State Assembly.”
Recently, Fox received critical endorsements from the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) State Council of California, the Orange County Employees Association, and the California Democratic Legislative Women’s Caucus.
After the June 30th fundraising deadline, Fox’s campaign announced that she had outraised her opponent, Steven Choi, more than 2:1, with Fox’s campaign bringing in a significant $174,515, while Choi only raised $77,785.
