Eustice draws major endorsement from crime victims’ advocate

Nina Salarno Besselman, the President of Crime Victims’ United of California*, has endorsed Melanie Eustice in the race for Assembly District 73.

Eustice, a conservative Republican, currently serves as the Chief of Administration and Public Affairs in the Orange County District Attorney’s Office and has worked tirelessly to empower the organization to advocate for victims and their families and to pursue justice.

“Melanie Eustice will be the champion that crime victims deserve in Sacramento,” Salarno Besselman said. “I have seen her passion and dedication up close and she is the voice we desperately need in the State Assembly.”

Salarno Besselman runs her own law firm and is a former prosecutor and deputy district attorney. She serves as president of Crime Victims’ United of California and has been a crime victims’ advocate since she was 12 years old, after her older sister, Catina, was brutally murdered. Salerno Besselman once testified before President Reagan’s Task Force on Crime Victims and has participated in many crime victims’ programs.

“For years Sacramento has weakened our criminal justice system by passing laws that favor criminals over victims,” Eustice said. “Keeping our communities safe and providing justice for victims and their families is very important to me and I am honored to have Nina’s endorsement.”
