Returning after a short hiatus, School Cents launches this school year at Los Cerritos, Lakewood and Stonewood Shopping Centers. The beloved program is made possible by Cerritos Auto Square and will enable 30 schools in the first program year to benefit from $50,000 in prize money.
The program runs from September 2019 through April 2020.
“The return of this popular program has been made possible by the generous support of Cerritos Auto Square and their “Square Cares” community giving program”, said the organizing team from Macerich, owner and managers of the three shopping centers. “Collectively, this program is able to reach more children than ever before and we are grateful for the partnership with Cerritos Auto Square and their Square Cares giving platform.”
Schools are selected based on prior productive program participation and will be rewarded based on receipts generated at each of the three participating centers, as well as at Cerritos Auto Square and through participation in mall-sponsored community events. The program extends to any community member who wishes to dedicate their shopping receipts toward a school beneficiary.
“At Cerritos Auto Square, caring about our neighbors means everything to us. That’s why, as part of our Square Cares program, we’re proud to sponsor School Cents for 30 local K-12 schools”, added Brandon Bingham, 2019 President, Cerritos Auto Square Board of Directors.
