USC’s backup quarterback Kidon Slovis took over after JT Daniels was injured, and had a record-setting debut. His second games was not so stellar. His third game on Friday, September 20, he was injured in the initial drive.
So Troy ran with its third-string quarterback, Matt Fink, and to most everyone’s surprise beat Utah, 30-23.

JT Daniels is reportedly out for the season with a knee injury. Kidon Slovis suffered a likely concussion. Let’s hope that USC does not have to play its fourth-string quarterback by the end of its next game.
The Trojans are now 3-1 overall, and 2-0 within the conference.
The next game is on Saturday, September 28, at Washington State.
