September 16, 2019

Arrest – 4:58 a.m. – 4400 block of Casa Grande – Officers responded to the location regarding an
assault with a deadly weapon (glass bottle). The suspect barricaded himself inside an apartment and refused to exit. After remaining barricaded in the apartment for several hours, the suspect and two additional occupants exited and were detained by police. One subject was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, a second subject for
brandishing a knife, and a third subject for an outstanding arrest warrant.
Arrest – 2:56 p.m. – 5800 block of Katella Ave. – From a call for service, officers arrested Angel Sanchez (07-06-89) for trespassing and possession of drug paraphernalia. Sanchez was later booked at the Orange County Jail.
Arrest – 4:33 p.m. – 8800 block of LaSalle St. – The adult victim came in to the front lobby to
report her husband assaulted her earlier, causing visible injuries. Officers responded to the suspect’s residence and arrested a male subject for felony domestic violence. An emergency protective order was obtained and served. The male subject was booked at the Cypress PD Jail and later transported to the Orange County Jail.

September 17, 2019

Arrest – 2:25 a.m. – 10400 block of Whirlaway – A named male suspect from a prior domestic violence incident reportedly attempted to enter a residence in violation of a restraining order, but fled the scene prior to officers responding to the resident’s call for service. Officers soon located the suspect in the 5400 block of Cerritos. The subject was arrested for domestic violence, false imprisonment, and violation of a restraining order.
Arrest – 7:43 a.m. – 8611 Watson Street (Cypress Arnold Park) – From a call for service, officers detained a female juvenile for possession of drug paraphernalia. The juvenile was booked at the Cypress PD Jail and later released with a citation.
Arrest – 7:58 a.m. – 6200 block of Lincoln Ave. – From a warrant service, officers arrested
a female and a male for outstanding arrest warrants. Both were booked at the Cypress PD Jail and later released with citations.
Arrest – 10:37 a.m. – 11000 block of Knott Ave. – From a call for service of a transient tampering
with vehicles and defecating in the parking lot, officers arrested a female subject for trespassing. The female was booked at the Cypress PD Jail and later transported to the Orange County Jail.

September 18, 2019

Car Fire – 8:10 a.m. – 5800 block of Lincoln Ave. – A Volkswagen bus was fully engulfed in flame.
Eastbound traffic on Lincoln Ave. was closed for a short time as the flames were extinguished.
Arrest – 4:20 p.m. – Knott/Orangewood –From a traffic stop officers arrested a male subject for an outstanding arrest warrant. The male was booked at the Cypress PD Jail and transported to the Orange County Jail.
Robbery – 8:26 p.m. – 9500 block of Valley View St. – Three 911 hang-up calls were received from a market. When the first responding police officer arrived, he saw the suspect vehicle flee the location at a high rate of speed, leading to a brief vehicle pursuit. The suspect’s vehicle ran out of fuel in a condominium complex in Anaheim and he was safely taken into custody. It was determined the suspect had committed a strong armed robbery at the market. The subject was arrested for several felonies and later booked at the Orange County Jail.

September 19, 2019

Attempted Access Card Theft – 2:45 a.m. – 4900 block of Lincoln Ave. – Three adult suspects reportedly entered the service station; as two distracted the clerk, the third suspect installed a credit card skimmer on one of the fuel pumps. The clerk later discovered the skimming device and notified the police. A police report was taken and the state Department of Agriculture was called to remove the device and assist with the investigation.
Arrest – 7:25 p.m. – 5800 block of Lincoln Ave. – From a call for service, officers arrested a male juvenile for shoplifting. The subject was booked and released with a citation.
Grand Theft – 2:50 p.m. – 5600 block of Sprague Ave. – Grand Theft – The victim discovered property worth over $950 was taken from inside the residence. A police report was taken.
Hit and Run Traffic Collision – 2:53 p.m. – 4800 block of Lincoln Ave. – A landscape truck picking up supplies reportedly struck a street light pole, knocking it to the ground. The driver fled after the collision
and officers responded to conduct an investigation.

September 20, 2019

Arrest – 4:24 a.m. – 4900 block of Lincoln Ave. – From a call for service, officers arrested a service station employee for public intoxication. The subject was reportedly consuming alcoholic beverages at the location and fell unconscious. He was booked at the Orange County Jail.
Traffic Collision – 6:29 p.m. – 5000 block of Lincoln Ave. – – A private tow truck was reportedly reversing when it bottomed out, damaging the roadway. A traffic collision report was taken.
Burglary – 8:48 p.m. – 9500 block of Monaco Dr. – At approximately 2015 hours, a burglary alarm was activated but the owners told the security company not to dispatch the police. When the owners returned home, they found the home ransacked, and $9,000 missing.

September 21, 2019

Recovered Stolen Vehicle – 2:46 p.m. – Holder/San Andres – A Police Service Officer reportedly recovered an unoccupied stolen vehicle at the location. The vehicle was stolen out of Garden Grove and later released to the owner.

September 22, 2019

Graffiti – 9:55 a.m. – Moody/Evergreen – Sometime overnight an unknown suspect reportedly spray-painted blue paint on the brick wall. Report taken and Public Works notified to remove the graffiti.
Incident Report – 12:06 a.m. – 5300 block of Lincoln Ave. – A large branch reportedly broke off from a privately-owned tree and fell onto a parked vehicle. The branch was blocking the roadway and sidewalk,
so Public Works responded to remove it.
Arrest – 2:02 a.m. – Lincoln Ave./Bloomfield Ave. – From a traffic stop, officers arrested
a male subject for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. The subject was booked at the Cypress PD Jail and released on a citation.

September 23, 2019

Arrest – 12:04 a.m. – 11200 block of Dana Wy. – From an occupied vehicle check, officers arrested
a male subject for a parole hold and possession of drug paraphernalia.
