September 19, 2019
Counseling – 5:03 p.m. – 7792 Walker St. (La Palma Police Department) – The reporting party’s son had reportedly been taken out of school by his birth father, and the RP wanted to report him as missing. Further investigation by contacting the child’s father showed that OC Children Services took the RP’s children away and gave full custody to the birth father. OC Children Services was also contacted, and the supervisor stated that the RP did not have legal right to the child. The child checked okay. It was also stated that the RP had made reports to local police departments on multiple locations. No report was taken. Message delivered to Cerritos Sheriff’s Office regarding the situation.
Pedestrian Check – 9:40 p.m. – 5000 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – Police conducted a pedestrian check and subsequently arrested a 50-year-old Yorba Linda resident for probation violation and theft of lost property. The subject was booked at Orange County Jail.
September 20, 2019
Counseling – 9:13 a.m. – Centerpointe Dr. – The caller requested counseling regarding a male subject who applied for a job at the location. The caller asked the subject to work two nights on a temporary basis. When he arrived at the location, the subject was upset because the pay was too low. The subject left the location and left a bad Yelp review, at which time the caller confronted him. The subject became upset with the caller. The caller was advised to attempt to obtain a restraining order against the subject, but no criminal threats were made, just a verbal disturbance. Counseled.
911 Hang-up – 9:24 p.m. – Moody/La Palma – The caller stated at he was at Moody/La Palma at Starbucks and some type of vehicle transaction was occurring and the caller wanted VIN numbers checked. Dispatch advised that there was no Starbucks at that location, and the caller then disconnected. The latitude/longitude showed that the caller was in the area of the 405 Fwy. in Fountain Valley.

Public Works Information – 8:13 a.m. – 5100 block of La Luna Dr. – A make-shift ladder was reportedly propped up near the fence in the flood control channel. Police determined that the homeowner placed a board on the opposite side of the fence to retrieve a kitten and forgot to remove it. Checked okay.
Found Property – 9:08 a.m. – Centerpointe Dr. – An Amazon package was reportedly found near the location. The package appeared to be torn open and new items possibly stolen. The package was out of Castaic.

Hit and Run – 12:57 a.m. – 7900 block of Louise Ln. – It appeared that a vehicle drove through a backyard wall between 7:10 p.m. and the time of call. The pool was full of debris. Hit and run report taken. Police assisted in securing the wall.

Health & Safety – 12:58 p.m. – 8200 block of Walker St. – A student was searched and a switch blade, pepper spray, and vape were found on the student. An incident report was taken.
Area Check – 5:33 p.m. – Lincoln/Moody (Cypress) – A driver was reportedly throwing water on other vehicles. The subject was gone on the arrival of police.
Health & Safety – 8:17 p.m. – 7821 Walker St. (Central Park) – A subject was possibly smoking drugs on a bench near the gazebo. Police located blank checks from a subject from Artesia. The subject had the in her possession prior to her leaving. The subject was arrested for theft of lost property.

Assist Outside Department – 8:33 a.m. – 8611 Watson St. (Cypress Arnold Park, Cypress) – Cypress Police Department requested a School Resource Officer for two students locked in the men’s restroom. Assisted. One subject was released to the subject’s mother, and one subject was released back to school.
Identity Theft Report – 5:44 p.m. – 5000 block of Alder Ln. – The reporting party reportedly received notice from a telecommunications company regarding phones purchased and delivered to an address in La Palma. Report taken.
September 25, 2019
Suspicious Subject – 1:07 p.m. – 7751 Moody St. (El Rancho Verde Park) – A male subject laying on a picnic bench reportedly asked the caller to call a taxi for a ride as he injured his leg. Police contacted the subject and requested OCFA respond for a burn to the leg. Paramedics were dispatched, and the subject was transported to the hospital.
Suspicious Circumstances – 11:05 p.m. – 5400 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – Subjects were reportedly passed out in a vehicle. The caller advised that an employee went up to the vehicle and the subjects were unresponsive. Police determined that the subjects were on a road trip and were sleeping. Checked okay.
