October 3, 2019

Counseling – 12:10 p.m. – 5500 block of La Palma Ave. – $1,200 in cash was reportedly given to the reporting party by an unknown subject in a possible scheme. The RP was counseled and referred to the FTC and Buena Park Police for a report. No crime occurred in La Palma.

October 4, 2019

Brandishing a Weapon – 9:23 a.m. – La Palma/Walker – A subject reportedly banged a knife wrapped in tape on a pillar. Police determined that there was no crime at this time.
Welfare Check – 9:41 a.m. – La Palma/Inwood – A subject was reportedly laying on the sidewalk. Police contacted the subject and conducted a search. The subject was subsequently arrested on three outstanding warrants and transported to Orange County Jail. The subject had previously been reported missing; the subject’s mother was contacted and advised of the circumstances.

October 5, 2019

Petty Theft Report – 10:15 p.m. – 5000 block of Via Helena – A vehicle was reportedly ransacked, with the reported loss of two watches, a wallet, and miscellaneous possessions. The point of entry was unknown, and the vehicle was unlocked. Report taken.
Disturbance (Subject) – 1:34 p.m. – 8400 block of Moody St. – A customer was reportedly upset regarding a money order and was physically fighting. La Palma Police requested Buena Park Police to assist. One subject was detained. Police subsequently arrested a 49-year-old Cypress resident for resisting/delaying/obstructing an officer. The subject was later released on citation.

October 6, 2019

Medical Aid – 5:33 a.m. – 5200 block of Duke Dr. – The caller’s father was possibly having a heart attack, with heavy vomiting and strained breathing. The subject was conscious, alert, and breathing when aid arrived. OCFA responded and the subject was transported to the hospital.
Keep the Peace – 10:03 a.m. – 4500 block of Kathy Dr. – The reporting party requested to speak with an officer regarding Police keeping the peace while the RP gathers belongings from an ex-girlfriend’s house. The RP was served with a restraining order from the subject. Assisted.
Patrol Check – 9:28 p.m. – Walker/Fresca – Buena Park Police reported a meeting of 100+ vehicles at Orangethorpe/Beach. La Palma Police conducted stakeouts at various locations.

October 7, 2019

Warrant Arrest – 1:18 p.m. – 5400 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – Police matched the subject with a DMV photo and arrested a 28-year-old Whittier resident for an outstanding warrant. The subject was booked and released on cite.
Petty Theft Report – 2:10 p.m. – 5000 block of Via Helena – Two bicycles were reportedly stolen from the back patio of a townhome. Petty theft report taken.

October 8, 2019

Counseling – 12:36 p.m. – 5400 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – A customer reportedly received a phone call regarding an IRS scam. The customer was supposed to withdraw $15,000 and pay the IRS. The IRS would be waiting for the customer outside. The customer was also supposed to bring a cell phone but she brought her home phone. There was no loss. Police made contact with other family members by phone.
Traffic Stop – 9:51 p.m. – La Palma/Valley View – Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no plates. Police confirmed that the driver had an outstanding warrant and arrested a 28-year-old Anaheim resident for the same. After Police searched the vehicle, the vehicle was towed and the arrested subject was booked at Orange County Jail.

October 9, 2019

Traffic Stop – 2:18 a.m. – La Palma/Westra – During the course of a traffic stop, Police conducted a search and subsequently arrested a 30-year-old Buena Park resident for possession of drug paraphernalia. The vehicle was released to a licensed driver and the subject was later released on citation.
Police Information – 12:08 p.m. – La Palma/Walker – The reporting party reported that approximately 11:45 a.m. at Walker and La Palma a subject vandalized the RP’s vehicle and drove recklessly. The RP was at the light and the subject threw a rock at the vehicle and damaged it. The subject then left westbound and ran red lights. When Police spoke to the RP, they determined that the RP did not see subjects throw anything at the vehicle. The RP attempted to follow the subjects, but lost them in the area of La Palma/Moody. The RP did not desire a report at this time and only wanted Police aware of the incident.
Petty Theft Report – 5:48 p.m. – 5900 block of La Palma Ave. – The caller reported 11 boxes of soap stolen, with the loss valued at $100. Report taken.

October 10, 2019

Illegally Parked Vehicle – 1:26 p.m. – 8200 block of Santa Margarita Ln. – The caller complained regarding a three-axle bus parked on a City street. Police spoke with the driver and determined that they were picking up a dance group from India shortly and would be leaving.
Vehicle Check – 4:58 p.m. – 7821 Walker St. (Central Park) – A subject was advised regarding barbecuing with an open flame in the parking lot. The flame was put out.
