Lyft’s Ride Smart Coalition encourages you to plan ahead for Halloween

It’s ~spooky season~ and few things are spookier than the $13,500 price tag that can come to drivers caught driving impaired if arrested and charged with a DUI (OC Sheriff).

The Orange County Ride Smart Coalition — consisting of Lyft, the Fullerton Police Department, Honda Center, The Observatory, Responsibility.org, California Office of Traffic Safety and other local partners* — is encouraging Halloween revelers in OC to plan ahead with a responsible ride, not drive, to the festivities.

  • Use Lyft code OCHALLOWEEN for $5 off Lyft rides anywhere in OC from Friday, 10/25 through Sunday, 10/27 and on Thursday 10/31
  • In 2017, 1,120 people were killed in alcohol-involved crashes on California roads (OC Sheriff)
  • Lyft’s 2019 Economic Impact Report for Orange County shows that 73% of riders are less likely to drive substance-impaired due to the availability of Lyft
  • The use of alcohol, marijuana and a combination of the two can be impairing and result in a DUI
