UPDATE! Magnolia Street bridge to close weekly for concrete pours

The Magnolia bridge over I-405 will be completely closed for crews to pour concrete for a wall adjacent to Magnolia, south of the bridge.

The closures are set for:

10 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5
10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8
10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15
10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21

Construction Activities

McFadden Avenue

Crews are scheduled to continue demolishing the center columns of the old McFadden bridge. This work will require freeway lane closures but not full freeway closures.

Crews next will install piles for the foundation of the new center columns.

  • Site prep and vibration of piles is scheduled to occur 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6.
  • Pile installation is scheduled to begin as early as 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, occurring on weekdays for approximately one month.
  • Crews may also conduct pile installation activities at night.

Santa Ana River

Crews are installing piles for the foundation of the widened freeway over the Santa Ana River.

  • Ongoing, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays for approximately one month.
  • Crews may also conduct pile installation activities at night.

Bushard Street

Crews are installing piles for the foundation of the new Bushard bridge.

  • Ongoing, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays for the remainder of the week
  • Crews may also conduct pile installation activities at night.
