La Palma Cerritos University Women to hear about avoiding falls at November meeting

On Nov. 21, Tee Barr, a Brain Fitness Director with 1 Heart Caregiver Services, will describe how avoiding falls can be done by “waking up” your brain.

Recently, three members of the La Palma-Cerritos Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) had falls at home which necessitated trips to the emergency room. Two of the three women required surgery, and all need assistance as they recover from their injuries.

The La Palma-Cerritos AAUW hopes that their members and community members can avoid falling and injuring themselves by coming to the meeting on Thursday, November 21, 2019, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Cerritos Park East, 13234 East 166th Street, Cerritos. The guest speaker will be Tee Barr, a Brain Fitness Director with 1 Heart Caregiver Services in Tarzana, California. Tee Barr has provided “hands on” experiences mentoring seniors at all levels of cognitive fitness at senior living centers throughout Southern California since 2008. She will be speaking on the topic of “How to Prevent Falls by Waking Up Your Brain” at 7 p.m.
