November 4, 2019
Traffic Collision – 7:36 a.m. – Via Majorca / Denni Street – Solo driver making a left turn onto Denni Street from Via Majorca left the roadway on the east side of the street, drove onto the sidewalk and dropped approximately 15 feet into the flood control. No injuries reported. Minor traffic delays for parents dropping off students at Landell Elementary.
Arrest – 1:35 p.m. – 8700 block of Walker St. – From a call for service, a female and a male were arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
Shoplifting – 8:33 p.m. – 10000 block of Valley View St. – From a call for service regarding a
beer run, Police located the suspect vehicle at Knott and Orange. A traffic stop was conducted and an adult and a juvenile were arrested for shoplifting.
November 5, 2019
Injury Report – 8:04 a.m. – 9000 block of Grindlay St. – A female fell. Nobody witnessed the fall and there were no obvious hazards on the pavement.
Arrest – 2:56 p.m. – 10000 block of Valley View St. – From a call for service, a subject was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Pedestrian Check – 12:01 p.m. – 6800 block of Katella Ave. – From a pedestrian check, a male subject was arrested for misappropriation of property and possession of methamphetamine.
Traffic Collision – 10:32 p.m. – Ball/Graham – A male subject was arrested for DUI after he parked his Suburban on the center median.
November 7, 2019
Recovered Stolen Vehicle – 2:45 p.m. – 6900 block of Katella Ave. – A maroon 2013 Nissan Maxima
had been reported stolen out of Lakewood on 11/4/19 and today it was recovered from the parking lot and returned to the owner.
Pedestrian Check – 10:36 p.m. – Walker St. and Cerritos Ave. – From a pedestrian check, a male subject was arrested for possession of methamphetamine. Through an investigation it was determined the subject was an out-of-state registered sex offender, but had never registered in California. The subject was also charged with failing to register as a sex offender.
November 8, 2019
Vandalism – 8:19 a.m. – 5400 block of Lincoln Ave. – Five juvenile suspects were observed by video spray painting graffiti on the rear wall and ground. The letters “VID SS” and “LBC PAL SS” were painted at an estimated repair cost of $200.
Robbery – 11:08 a.m. – 6800 block of Elm – After using a distraction technique on the victim, two
suspects ripped a gold bracelet off the victim’s wrist and fled. The suspects were described as a female in her 40s, 5’08” heavyset, wearing a long black skirt and gold jewelry, and a heavyset male (no further details). The suspects were seen fleeing towards Knott Avenue in an older white Chevrolet Suburban.
Power Outage – 11:00 p.m. – Area of Cypress Police Department – A power outage occurred in the area, which affected the entire police department. The PD’s backup generators were activated, and Edison was notified. The majority of the power was re-established around 1:00 a.m., but there were still residential tracks without power. Edison would be working in the area throughout the morning.

Traffic Collision – 1:46 a.m. – 9800 block of Bloomfield Ave. – Officers responded to a traffic collision where a vehicle collided into a light pole and a parked vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was determined to be driving under the influence of prescription medication and alcohol and a McNeely warrant was obtained. Edison responded to the collision and de-energized the pole and removed it out of the roadway.
Sexual Battery – 10:00 a.m. – Orange/Graham – While the female victim was walking home, an unknown male rode his bicycle past her and slapped her buttocks with his hand. The victim went home before calling the police. Police were unable to locate the suspect during the investigation.
Disturbance (Subject) – 7:07 p.m. – 5200 block of Lincoln Ave. – Officers responded to the business for a drunk male destroying flowers. Upon arrival, Officers contacted and arrested a male subject for public intoxication and public nuisance.
November 10, 2019
Vehicle Burglary – 7:14 a.m. – 4500 block of Lincoln Ave. – Sometime overnight, an unknown suspect stole $1,000 in tools from the victim’s unlocked truck.
Theft – 8:37 a.m. – 5000 block of Ball Rd. – Suspects from a theft at a business in La Palma minutes before were seen entering the a business of the same chain in Cypress. Officers arrived and detained the family.
Assist Outside Agency – 6:12 p.m. – Ball/Bloomfield – Cypress Police assisted Long Beach PD and Los Alamitos PD with a traffic collision that knocked out power to multiple districts in Cypress. SCE was able to restore the power to much of the area within 90 minutes, but Public Works was called out for stop signs at intersections that were out. A SigAlert was issued for 10 hours due to downed power lines.
