Ew. That was embarrassing.
The UCLA Bruins, I am sure, wanted to take out the Utes this week so that they could look forward to taking apart the Trojans next week.
Instead, the Utes decisively slapped the Bruins around, allowing UCLA a single field goal during the first quarter. After that, the Bruins might just as well have started back for home as stayed at Rice-Eccles Stadium. The Utes hardly noticed they were there as they rang up 49 points.

At least next week’s cross-town game against the Trojans won’t be the season’s last for the Bruins. But they will face the California Golden Bears, who will likely be looking for vengeance after this week’s humiliation by the Trojans.
