Warmest Thanksgiving wishes to all Orange County residents

As we approach this Thursday’s Thanksgiving festivities, we should take the time to reflect on what we are grateful for and the loved ones we cherish. We are blessed to live in such a wonderful county with so many fantastic people, communities, businesses and a rich history.

During this joyous time of the year, we should also remember that not all have the privilege of sitting in a warm household with a turkey dinner surrounded by their loved ones. Some are our troops serving overseas in combat zones, others are law enforcement, firefighters and first responders who are on duty making sure our communities remain safe while we enjoy the day off, while many of our vulnerable homeless remain on the streets.

While we should be grateful for what we have here in Orange County, we should also consider giving back to the communities that have allowed us to prosper, particularly those in need. A number of food drives and charities are working hard to make sure that those without a home are fed this Thanksgiving. Others provide generous care packages to our troops overseas that can’t be home with their families.

Additionally, below are some resources from our county agency partners on travel tips and food preparation safety tips for this holiday season.
