Angels Baseball Foundation to hold canned food drive

The Angels Baseball Foundation will host a Holiday Canned Food Drive on Monday, December 9th at Angel Stadium to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. Hours for the food drive will be from 11 AM – 6 PM. Participants can enter Angel Stadium through Gate #1 to donate canned or non-perishable food items, as well as cash donations and take part in a special stadium experience with players in attendance.

Fans will have the opportunity to step up to the plate at Angel Stadium and take a swing for the fences. Donations of 20 cans of non-perishable food or $20 will be good for 10 swings against a pitching machine with a maximum of 20 swings per participant. Radar guns will also be set up in the bullpens to provide fans the opportunity to test their pitching skills for a donation of 10 canned food items or $10 for 5 pitches. Additionally, fans will have the opportunity to tour the inside of the Angels clubhouse for $20 ($10 for children), and shag fly balls in the outfield for a donation of $25. The Angels will provide bats, balls and helmets.

“We are thrilled to team up with Second Harvest Food Bank,” said Angels Chairman Dennis Kuhl. “As members of our community, we have a responsibility to help those in need. This event allows everybody to get involved and give to those who are less fortunate than ourselves.”

All food items will be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank and financial donations will benefit the Angels Baseball Foundation.
