OCC will break ground on Language Arts, Social Sciences building on Dec. 5

Orange Coast College has scheduled a groundbreaking ceremony for a new Language Arts and Social Behavioral Sciences building on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 1 p.m. The building is funded through Measure M, a $698 million bond measure that voters approved in 2012.

The three-story, 95,000-square-foot project will be located adjacent to OCC’s Math, Business and Computing Center (MBCC) building, and will include classrooms, office space, conference rooms, a newsroom, and indoor/outdoor labs for geography and anthropology courses. Additional programs of study that will be housed in the building include English, psychology, communications, world languages, journalism, English as a Second Language (ESL), and economics.

The groundbreaking ceremony will take place on the Southwest corner of the construction site, near the MBCC building and the College’s Clark Center (see map), and will be attended by OCC and Coast Community College District employees and administrators, as well as TBP Architecture firm.
