UPDATE! Southbound (SB) Freeway closure for Magnolia Street bridge falsework removal

SB I-405 will be closed so crews can remove falsework from the new Magnolia bridge.

Scheduled to occur the nights of:

  • Monday, Dec. 9;
  • Tuesday, Dec. 10; and
  • Wednesday, Dec. 11.

NB I-405 will be closed so crews can remove falsework from the new Magnolia bridge.

Scheduled to occur the nights of:

  • Thursday, Dec. 12;
  • Friday, Dec. 13; and
  • Monday, Dec. 16.

Construction Activities

Harbor Boulevard

UPDATE! Traffic breaks and lane closures on Harbor Boulevard are scheduled to continue this weekend so crews can mobilize equipment and continue pile driving activities in the center median.

Traffic breaks are set for:

  • 4 a.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 8
  • Midnight Monday, Dec. 9, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10

Lane reductions are set for:

  • 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8

Beach Boulevard

COMING SOON! Crews will install piles for the foundation of the NB and SB I-405 on-ramps from Beach Boulevard.

Crews will also install piles for the foundation of the widened freeway over Beach, in the center median. This work will require lane reductions on NB Beach.

  • Scheduled to begin in mid-December.
  • Crews may also conduct pile installation activities at night.

Talbert Avenue

COMING SOON! Crews will install piles for the foundation of the new bridge.

  • Scheduled to begin in early December.
  • Crews may also conduct pile installation activities at night.

Westminster Boulevard

Eastbound (EB) Westminster will be reduced to one lane for crews to pour concrete for the new bridge.

  • 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. weekdays intermittently for approximately three months.
  • Crews may also conduct pile installation activities at night.

McFadden Avenue

Crews are scheduled to install piles for the foundation of the new center columns.

  • Ongoing, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays for approximately one month.
  • Crews may also conduct pile installation activities at night.

Santa Ana River

Crews are installing piles for the foundation of the widened freeway over the Santa Ana River.

  • Ongoing, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays for approximately one month.
  • Crews may also conduct pile installation activities at night.

The duration of this work may change depending on site conditions. Please be advised that this work may be loud. Dates and times are subject to change due to unforeseen operational factors or inclement weather.

  1. I cannot find any information about the McFadden bridge. It’s obviously delayed. What caused the delay?
