La Palma City Council appoints Allan L. Roeder as Interim City Manager

On December 3, 2019, the La Palma City Council voted to appoint Allan L. Roeder as Interim City Manager, effective December 19, 2019. Mr. Roeder retired from the City of Costa Mesa in 2011 after serving 25 years as City Manager. He most recently served as Interim City Manager for the cities of Fullerton and Garden Grove.

“We are fortunate to have someone as seasoned as Mr. Allan Roeder to serve our City,” said Mayor Peter Kim. “I am confident that Allan will be a terrific asset and that La Palma will have continued success during this transitional period.”
“I am incredibly honored and humbled to have the opportunity to serve the City of La Palma,” said Mr. Roeder. “I look forward to working with City Council, staff, and the community to continue to provide excellent City services to all La Palma residents.”

Mr. Roeder will be temporarily filling the position currently held by Laurie A. Murray, who previously announced her retirement earlier this year after 23 years of public service, 13 of which with La Palma. Her last day with the City of La Palma will be December 19, 2019. The City has engaged the services of an executive recruitment firm to conduct a nationwide search for qualified candidates. The deadline for applications is Monday, December 23.
