Coast District Board elects new officers during reorganization meeting

The Coast Community College District Board of Trustees elected new officers on December 13 for the 2020 calendar year, during its yearly organizational meeting. With unanimous votes, Trustee David Grant was elected board president, Trustee Lorraine Prinsky was elected board vice president, and Trustee Jim Moreno was elected board clerk.

“It is my privilege to serve as board president for the Coast District and to continue the great work of empowering our students, faculty, and staff,” Trustee Grant said. “I thank Dr. Prinsky for her service as chair and thoughtful leadership throughout the year.”

The Board also expressed its appreciation to Trustee Jerry Patterson for his service as board vice president, and Trustee Moreno—who is continuing in his current role—for his service as board clerk during the 2019 calendar year.

Trustee Grant most recently served as board president during 2017. He holds the title of president emeritus of Orange Coast College and was an assistant rowing coach for the United States Olympic Rowing Team in 1984. Trustee Grant is a resident of the City of Newport Beach.

Board members were also appointed to various internal and external committees during the reorganization meeting and are expected to report on the activities of those committees during board meetings throughout the year.
