December 4, 2019

Illegally Parked Vehicle – 7:31 a.m. – 5200 block of Bridgewood Dr. – A vehicle was reportedly blocking the driveway. Police determined that there was a dispute between the current resident and the former resident of the location. The former resident was advised regarding trespassing.
Area Check – 2:44 p.m. – Walker/Crescent – Juveniles were reportedly fighting at the location. Police contacted three juveniles but were unable to locate any victims and were unable to corroborate a crime at this time. No report was taken.

December 5, 2019

Vehicle Check – 1:12 p.m. – 5600 block of Fresca Dr. – Police checked on a vehicle and saw drugs in plain view. Police decided to stake out the vehicle.
Citizen Assist – 7:39 p.m. – 4500 block of Patricia Cir. – The caller requested officers pick up an unregistered handgun. The caller was going through a divorce and had a restraining order against her husband, who was currently out of the country. The gun was previously registered in Texas. The firearm was taken pursuant to a restraining order through the court and in the interest of public safety.

December 6, 2019

Suspicious Circumstances – 10:53 a.m. – 5500 block of Fresca Dr. – The reporting party received an anonymous call stating that a subject possibly had an AR-15 in the vehicle. The reporting party did not know who the subject was and did not ask the caller. Police drove by in an unmarked vehicle. Police contacted the subject, and the weapon was determined to be a multi-caliber KE-15. There was determined to be no crime. The parties were counseled and the weapon was secured in the trunk of the vehicle.
Vehicle Tampering Report – 1:08 p.m. – 4600 block of La Palma Ave. – A transient was reportedly trying to get into vehicles and throwing a shirt into the air. Police contacted the subject, who fought them. Paramedics were requested for the subject, who swallowed an unknown substance, possibly narcotics. The subject was arrested for vehicle tampering and resisting an officer.
Welfare Check – 7:00 p.m. – 4900 block of La Palma Ave. – A subject was reportedly sleeping in front of the entrance for the past hour and the caller could smell alcohol. The caller’s employee attempted to wake up the subject, and the subject only opened up his eyes and went back to sleep. Police made contact and requested paramedics. The subject was breathing but not responsive, possibly related to diabetes. The subject was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

December 7, 2019

Assist Other Department – 3:19 a.m. – 6200 block of Caballero Blvd. (Buena Park) – A fire hydrant was reportedly hit and water was spraying 30 feet into the air.
Stolen Vehicle Report – 8:13 p.m. – 5400 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – Police received a second-hand report that a vehicle had been stolen. The victim came ot the phone and then threw the phone down. The reporting party advised that the victim was crying and upset. Police conducted an area check but were unable to locate the vehicle. The vehicle was entered into the stolen vehicle system. Report taken.

December 8, 2019

Transients – 8:21 a.m. – 7800 block of Walker St. – Two subjects were reportedly sleeping in front of the building. Party advised and will comply. The subjects left the area.
Burglary Report – 5400 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – The caller reported the loss of two cash registers by two male subjects wearing masks. The subjects had a getaway driver. Grand theft report taken.

December 9, 2019

Petty Theft Report – 9:18 a.m. – 8300 block of El Pescador Ln. – The caller reported the theft of a strobe light projector. Report taken.
Found Property – 5:39 p.m. – 7792 Walker St. (La Palma Police Department) – A black iPhone was found in front of the library and turned into the police. Police spoke with the owner after the phone rang, and the phone was released to the owner.

December 10, 2019

Found Property – 8:40 a.m. – La Palma/Collins – A credit card was found on the ground. The card had been reported lost or stolen and had been deactivated. The new card had already been sent to the owner. The found card would be destroyed.
Vehicle Burglary Report – 9:42 p.m. – 8200 block of Walker St. – Property was reportedly stolen from a locked vehicle. The point of entry was a broken front passenger window. The loss was a makeup bag valued at $500. Report taken.

December 11, 2019

Assault/Battery – 8:50 a.m. – Marion/Denni – A male subject and a female subject reportedly hit each other with their vehicles and then got out of the vehicles and started hitting each other. Police were unable to locate the subjects.
Extra Patrol Checks – 5:48 p.m. – 7800 block of Walker St. – A business owner requested extra patrol checks for transients sleeping on the steps in front of building.
