Grab your paddle and head out to the new Pickleball courts at Arnold Cypress Park, 8611 Watson Street.
What is Pickleball? Pickleball is a mix between tennis, racquetball and ping pong. Players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a wiffle ball, over a net.
This paddle sport was created for all ages and skill levels and can be played as singles or doubles.
With a 650 percent increase in numbers over the last six years, according to the USA Pickleball Association, Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in America.
Along with the new courts, lessons, clinics, round-robin socials and leagues will be coming soon.
Not sure if you have the time to try a new sport? Don’t worry, it’s open seven days a week from 8:00am to dusk.
