The City of Garden Grove is currently accepting online applications for positions in the Community Services and Police Departments. The deadline to apply for the part-time Community Services positions is Friday, January 24. Wednesday, January 22 is the deadline for police opportunities. Part-time job openings for Community Services include a variety of Recreation Leader / Recreation Specialist positions for the following divisions/programs:
- Community Meeting Center: Work for the main facilities for use by the community and City of various private and public events.
- Human Services (Family Resource Centers and Senior Center): Provide vital resources and programs designed to enhance and serve specific populations in Garden Grove at the human services facilities.
- Park Patrol: Patrol City parks to ensure safe and proper use of facilities and to provide public assistance and information.
- Day Camp: Plan, organize, implement, and supervise daily activities at a day camp designed for children ages 5-17.
Police department job openings for full-time and part-time positions include Police Recruit; Police Recruit – Academy Enrolled; Police Officer – Academy Trained; Lateral Police Officer; Reserve Police Officer Level I and Level II; and Police Cadet.
For sworn police officers, the Garden Grove Police Department offers outstanding in-service training programs and specializations in the areas of accident investigations, canine handling, gang suppression, investigations, juvenile services, motorcycle traffic enforcement, patrol, special weapons and tactics, and vice- narcotic enforcement, after sufficient experience in the police department.
The police cadet position offers young men and women the opportunity to learn the aspects of law enforcement and prepares them for a career as a sworn police officer.
