The City of Garden Grove, in collaboration with the County of Orange, is developing a 2020 Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice (AI) planning document that will act as a guide for fair housing opportunities in the county. The community is invited to participate in the AI development by attending upcoming workshops and providing input. The workshops will be held on:
- Tuesday, January 28, at 6:30 p.m., at the Westminster Miriam Warne Community Room, located at 14491 Beach Boulevard in Westminster
- Wednesday, January 29, at 6:30 p.m., at the Santa Ana City Council Chambers, located at 22 Civic Center Plaza in Santa Ana
- Thursday, January 30, at 6:00 p.m., at the Fullerton Public Library Community Conference Center, located at 353 W. Commonwealth Avenue in Fullerton
Topics to be discussed include housing affordability and availability; tenant and landlord rights and relations; and housing discrimination.
The AI will identify housing needs in individual cities and current fair housing barriers, while suggesting programs and procedures that will eliminate those barriers, creating fair housing access and opportunities countywide.
In accordance with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the City of Garden Grove is among 30 Orange County cities elected to prepare a regional AI.
