State Senator Tom Umberg (D-Santa Ana) announced that he has endorsed Santa Ana Mayor Miguel Pulido’s candidacy for Orange County Supervisor.
“I am proud to endorse Mayor Pulido for County Supervisor,” said State Senator Tom Umberg, whose 34th State Senate District overlaps with County Supervisorial District 1. “As Mayor of Santa Ana, Pulido has provided the leadership, vision, and drive for the renaissance and revitalization of Santa Ana over the last two decades. I have enjoyed working with him. He has the experience and knowledge to be extremely effective and impactful for our community on the County Board of Supervisors.”
“I am deeply honored to have the endorsement of Senator Tom Umberg for my effort for County Supervisor,” said Santa Ana Mayor Miguel Pulido. “As a former federal prosecutor, Bronze Star recipient as a U.S. Army Colonel who served in Afghanistan, Deputy Drug Czar under former President Clinton, and State Senator, Tom embodies the pinnacle in public service and commitment to his community.”
Miguel Pulido was first elected to the Santa Ana City Council in 1986 and is presently serving his 13th term as Mayor, a post he has successfully held since 1994. During Pulido’s tenure as Mayor, Santa Ana has experienced a strong increase in home and property values, a decrease in violent crime, a significant rise in the number of business licenses, an overhaul and improvement of the City’s aging infrastructure, a prioritization of arts and culture, a rebirth of community spirit, and a revitalization of its historic downtown.
