75-year-old Nevada man jumps off Seal Beach pier

On February 15, 2020 at about 9:00 a.m., the Seal Beach Police Department received a call from a witness who saw a man jump into the water. Seal Beach Police Officers, Seal Beach Marine Safety, and the Orange County Fire Authority responded to the Pier. First responders discovered the man clinging weakly to a pier pylon. He was rescued from the water by lifeguards.

The 75-year-old man was a reported missing person out of Las Vegas, Nevada. He told the first responders that he jumped in an attempt to end his life. The man was uninjured as a result of falling into the cold water but was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
