February 6, 2020

Grand Theft Report – 6:18 a.m. – Centerpointe – A computer, lights, and tool box valued at $5,000 were taken between 3 p.m. on February 5 and 6 a.m. on February 6. Report taken.
Suspicious Subject – 10:47 p.m. – 5500 block of La Palma Ave. – A suspicious male subject wearing a black hoodie and jeans was in the parking lot, possibly carrying a computer. Police determined that there was a lighting inspection taking place to make sure that the lighting was appropriate for nighttime.

February 7, 2020

Public Works Information – 11:08 a.m. – Moody/Borrego – An abandoned Ralphs shopping cart was located at the west curb of Moody just south of Borrego. Public Works notified.
Public Works Information – 2:55 p.m. – 5700 block of Parkwest Cir. – The water meter cover was broken and the caller’s daughter was concerned that someone may trip in the hole. Cones and a barrier were placed. Public Works notified.

February 8, 2020

Traffic Collision – 1:23 p.m. – 5400 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – The caller reported a collision between a vehicle and a skateboarder. The caller was not able to describe the vehicle but advised that it pulled back into the apartment complex and there was a language barrier with the driver. The skateboarder refused medical treatment. Report taken.

February 9, 2020

Disturbance (Family) – 12:37 a.m. – 5600 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – The caller could hear two males shouting at each other, possibly father and son. Police contacted the subjects and both parties were counseled.
Traffic Stop – 2:27 a.m. – Centerpointe – Police conducted a traffic stop and arrested two subjects who matched burglary suspects from a previous incident on Wednesday. A 32-year-old female and a 38-year-old male were arrested for vehicle tampering, receiving/concealing stolen property, burglary, and petty theft.
Vandalism Report – 1:26 p.m. – 7900 block of Valley View St. – A large amount of black graffiti was reported to the rear of the building and a business door that houses the electrical meters was also possibly pried open. A Redi Letter was emailed to Code Enforcement.

February 10, 2020

Transient – 8:09 a.m. – 6800 block of Walker St. – The caller reported the smell of fire under Walker Well from a possible transient. Police contacted a subject who was grilling in an enclosed grill. The subject put out the fire and was warned.
Vandalism – 7:29 p.m. – Orangethorpe/Walker – A female subject was reportedly vandalizing the caller’s’ property. Police arrested a 45-year-old La Palma resident for vandalism and resisting an officer. OCFA was requested for the subject who stated that she was having trouble breathing due to asthma. The subject was ultimately transported to Orange County Jail and booked.

February 11, 2020

Disturbance (Subject) – 5:18 p.m. – 7821 Walker St. (Central Park) – The caller stated that a subject hit her vehicle with their vehicle door. Police counseled both parties. There was no damage to the vehicle.
Grand Theft Report – 8:13 p.m. – 7700 block of Valley View St. – The reporting party reported a loss of $1,900 in Target gift cards via telephone scam.
