Garden Grove adds new Art in the Park activities

The City announces new activities added to the 2nd Annual Art in the Park community event, an interactive art festival taking place next Saturday, March 7, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Village Green park, located at 12732 Main Street. Participation is free. All art material will be provided.

Activities added include DIY pop culture figurine painting, provided by ORD Arts and Crafts. Figurines available are popular superheroes and cartoon characters. Participants are welcome to take home their masterpiece.

Another new component of Art in the Park is the Garden Grove Tree Art Contest, inviting local youth in Kindergarten through 12th grade to draw or paint existing or future trees in the city. The Tree Art Contest is part of the City’s ongoing Urban Forest Management Plan that will act as a guide for enhancing and growing an urban forest in Garden Grove.

The 2nd Annual Art in the Park is a collaboration with the Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD) and will showcase GGUSD’s 42nd Annual First Impressions Student Art Exhibit. The art exhibit will be located at the Garden Grove Courtyard Center, in Village Green park, at 12732 Main Street. Opening day is Saturday, March 7, at 9:00 a.m.
